Utah, Babes, Peaches

Another quickie trip to Utah. A precious grand to be named and blessed and kis and other grands to hug and kiss. Here's delightful Graham.  Dear A2K gave him as a middle name the same as this grandpa. How kind kids.

Many of the loving women in Graham's life.  I was glad to notice Javi's face by me. Good dog.

The men.

On the drive we stopped in Santaquin at The Red Barn hoping to get Utah peaches.

Our fortune.

The long drive is my opportunity to crochet.  This tri-colored blanket is for the next grand to be born in January.

Home now and determined not to waste a peach. Blanching.

Cooling in an ice bath.

Peeled, pitted and sliced.

Ready for the freezer.  Maybe this will be a cobbler this winter.

Kitchen all cleaned up so on to the next chore and its a biggie. I'm cleaning out an old desk that has been a catch-all for waaaay too long.  Wishing you a happy day, msk

SLC

Salt Lake City in Springtime is delicious. Tulips, iris, grape Hyacinth, lilacs, oh the glorious lilacs, flowering trees and some I couldn't identify.

It was great that most of our locals could meet us for dinner at The Red Iguana. My first time there but not my last. I see why the kids have been talking about this "killer" place.

Cool and breezy, very nice change of pace.

Utah Swim Meet 2012

Here is 10 year old grand H, in white, team cap. He had a great swim year and qualified for many races. This was a 3 day event with races and family cheering.

Aunt Dori, Annette and Andy in the stands. We were a big team of support and love.

Grand O, turned 9 during the meet, awaiting his race. This was his first year swimming and he did so well. Both boys gave it their all.

Double Bubble helps fill in the time during races for Miss P and I.

Great flags.

This photo shows H coming in 1st in the Butterfly, his strongest event.

H off the block.
The kids are there somewhere :)

H in the Back Stroke.

H with coach.

Off the block.

The family after one of the evening events. P is hiding.

Fam plus Dori and their neice M.

During a bit of spare time I had a good time checking out a store filled with emergency food storage and "stuff". Even Wal*mart has 2 isles full of emergency prep foods.
I wanted to try these and if good I'll get more when we head to Utah for our family reunion.
Scone Mix
Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
6-Grain Pancake Mix
Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
The Morning Moo is for my personal storage and I can recommend it-better than any brand you'll find in a regular grocery store.

Scenes from Utah

SLK with his dad. We had been told he probably wouldn't make it to the reunion since he was just recovering from a bought of pneumonia so it was a delight he attend. He shared fun and interesting stories too.

An evening in Mill Creek Canyon. How many times can I say how much FUN we had together...the emphasis on TOGETHER.

Waiting in line for a ride a Lagoon.

Ooching along an old tree trunk across Mill Creek. You have to remember we'd just come AZ and all this cool, lush greenery and water almost had me in in a state of euphoria.

Just in the gates of Lagoon, not even on a ride yet and the grands enjoyed the fountains. Being a gal of the 60's and poofy hair I enjoyed all from the sidelines.
We love taking the grands to BYU and they love bowling there...and knowing you can take bowling as a college course. Now that's just plain FUN.
On the banks of a creek by Dori's house we found lavender growing. With a little effort and a lot of balance we got her a really large, beautiful bouquet that will dry nicely.
Linny had to work so much and long hours that it was great to finally have her be with us. The grands love their AUNTS!! And the aunts give so much love right back.
More to come. You may have seen most of these photos at my girls blogs but for me, I never get tired of looking at my family. Go figure :)

Happy day from msk

Family, Family, Family

We are a spread-out-family. My heart breaks that the cousins can't be together more along with the aunts and uncles too. Building strong family ties is exceedingly important to me and a must. So you will understand my excitement that the AZ kiddos and grands have made their summer vacation be a trip to be with the Utah branch of our family.

How fun that one of the grands keeps sending me cell phone photos so I can be a part of their fun. Here's Miss T in the Conference Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and I looked at pictures of this center and I told her she may get to go and see it in person. I hope it was fun for her.

"The Cristus" statue on Temple Square in the Visitors Center. I remember lining up my kiddos when they were tots for a picture in front of this moving art work. I'm told Trevlyn did that also with the grands.

The temple spires. Cloudy days are okay so the sightseers don't get overheated.

Little cousin Miss P in a cute hat. I know how excited Miss T was to spend time with Miss P, she took up matching jewelry for them to wear.

Fun at Lagoon!!!! Aunt Dori was Super-Aunt-Dori making herself go on the "scarey" rides with the grands.

Miss T somewhere.

Probably the most daring grand when it comes to the wild rides. Such a fun grand.

I hope that great, great memories are being created.
I'll be happy to hear about the trip to Heber to see Great grandpa K.

Thanks kids for extending yourselves to one another. Blessings on your heads.

Love Utah in October

Greetings from cool, beautiful Utah. SLK and I drove up Thursday. My favorite part of the drive was just after Kanab where there were gorgeous fall leaves. My face was on a "project" most of the time and I was not crocheting a baby blanket. Since it is a bridal shower gift for Linny's shower tomorrow I can't share. It's very old fashioned.

Today was a fun day of shopping, eating and just being together. We made it to Tai Pan Trading, one of my all-time favorite stores and I scored. Hopefully I'll be able to take photos and get to sharing on here soon.

Tonight's highlight was hearing Penelope call "Grammy" and her invite to join beside her bed for prayer. Now won't you agree that would be a highlight!!!

Another "high" was hearing from Trevlyn that Kirby has not eaten any of her chicks!!! She reports he to very, too interested but no mishaps. I was/am worried.

Thanks Andy for sharing your computer so I can post. I LOVE MY FAMILY.
