By Popular Demand

Per request, here is my post on my political activism of this week.

As a concerned, sane American citizen I have issues with the amount of debt we are being forced into. I also have many concerns about aspects of the current health bill set forth by our president, especially the public option. I attended a town hall meeting last week and listened to what my congressman had to say, especially about his health care bill...only 25 pages long and I can understand a whole lot of it. I agree that changes are needed!!! I like Rep. John Shade*gg's bill that would allow medical insurance companies to compete just like our auto and home insurance companies do thus being competitive and working to get our business and keep prices lower. He also has provisions to cover the uninsured and much, much more. Why am I not hearing about other such bills????

This week I joined friends Cheryl W., Patti S. and Connie C. and we traveled to Flagstaff to participate in the TeaParty Express Rally that is traveling across country. We were part of what one person estimated to be a group of 3,000.

Being a firm believer in expressing myself with respect and courtesy, here is my handmade sign.
Sorry Cheryl that this is not the most flattering photo of you but it sure is good of Patti. Here's her good smile. Again, I forgot my camera so these are cell phone pics.
The crowd was well behaved and my fears of being in a sea of rednec*ks did not materialize-thankfully. No ugly shouting or confrontation. Alot of cheering and I felt like I was part of a grass roots efforts to share opinion and heartfelt feelings.
When I watch the mainstream media I feel like "we" are depicted as a bunch of uneducated, hickish, rednecks. This large crowd was anything but!!!

Here is part of the live television broadcast. Later that night on Fox news I didn't see myself but I did see my sign bobbing up and down.
The cloudy skies and cooler temperatures were also a big relief from the valley heat we left. On the way home we got in a monsoon with wonderful lightening and rain. Just wish it would have lasted longer.

Correction of Link

Thanks for the heads up Tessa. I hope this helps. I'm so pleased you are concerned enough to bring this to my attention and want to email your opinion.
Try clicking here for the link to protect doctors from Obama's potential change in regulations.

This is a link to American Family Association that I am an online subscriber to. Click here to learn more about them (AFA) and become a subscriber. I know most of my family and close friends tell me they are already signed up but maybe a few of you don't know about it.

Protect Doctor's With Morals

Obama seeks to take away religious rights of doctors and health care providers who refuse to perform abortions
Urgent: send your e-mail to the White House today!
March 3, 2009
Dear Friend,
According to several news agencies, President Barack Obama will rescind the "conscience rule" that protects health workers who refuse to participate in abortions or other medical procedures that go against their moral and religious beliefs. If the rule is rescinded, doctors, nurses and other health care workers could lose their jobs or be punished professionally for adhering to their sincerely held religious convictions. Obama's proposal would take away their religious freedom. The current rule empowers federal health officials to cut off federal funding for any state or local government, hospital, clinic, health plan, doctor's office or other entity if it does not accommodate employees who exercise their right of conscience. It applies to more than 584,000 health care facilities. The Obama administration is doing the bidding of pro-abortion advocacy groups who seek to penalize health care providers who refuse to participate in abortions.According to The Washington Post, Obama administration officials stressed that the proposal will be subject to 30 days of public comment. That is why it is so very important for you to let the White House hear from you today. Click here to express your feelings . . . please.
Few minutes later I'm back here with a P.S. regarding this post title. I do not want to offend anyone. I'm talking about morals regarding human life. I will also go out on a limb and say I'm tired of usually very young, college aged gals who want me to sign their petitions to protect such things as baby seals, spotted owls, eagles and puppies but are all for aborting human babies. I'm just sick of it and since this is my blog, this is my voice.

"Better Duck-If You're A Mormon"

I've been reading and thinking again. . . dangerous. This newspaper article is so right on in my opinion - it is from the Deseret News. Will you take the time to read it? SLK forwarded it to me and I'm glad I took the time. I would really like your opinion.
