Happy Birthday Andy / Happy Bunny Day

I'm a bit chagrinned for not posting about other kiddos birthdays this year...sorry-really.  But it is Andy's birthday today so here is a shout-out.  What a great son that has turned into such a great husband and father.

Now, I wanted to share with you one of our family traditions.  When Trevlyn and Tyler were just toddlers I was  impressed with having a "bunny day" on the Saturday before Easter.  They had fun baskets, egg hunts and a party atmosphere.  It was a joy.  Then on Sunday we focused on celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of  our Savior Jesus Christ, His great love and sacrifice for us and what that means to us.  This has been dear to me and I love this tradition.

Well, we will be having  the local family here for Bunny Day.  I'm loading loads of eggs with candy and planning on yummy  food.  This also  happens to be our church semi-annual conference so we will be tuned into K-BYU and worshipping from home on both today and tomorrow.  This will be great.  I will love this week-end.

Here's a little bunny day fun for you.  Enjoy.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.

There's no such thing as too much candy.

All work and no play can make you a basket case.

Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.

Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.

Some body parts should be floppy.

Keep your paws off of other people's jelly beans.

Good things come in small, sugar coated packages.

The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.

To show your true colors, you have to come out of the shell.

The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

"It's A Beautiful Day In The Valley Kids"

That's a quote from Dr. Clark, my first OB/GYN and the one that "caught" my firstborn - I feel I delivered her. He walked into my labor room on a Monday morning, went over to the window and looking out on Provo made that announcement.

Well, it's another beautiful, Monday only in another valley and it's a joy to celebrate Trevlyn's birth. I am blessed with a daughter that has always, always shown love and respect, fun and hard working, creative and a great cook and someone who loves the Lord and serves Him. A JOY for which I am extremely grateful. Thanks for the fun day today and your life. I'm so thrilled I get to share it.

Feeling The Love

I truly had not planned to blog about my birthday a.k.a. the big 60!!! Birthday's are typically very low key around here. But after all the greatness of family and friends in my life today at the very least I have to say THANK YOU. This has just been awesome.
The night before thee day Trevlyn brought over the local grands with a plate of sugar cookies frosted in "Tiffany" blue and a stack of homemade cards from the grands. I love that Tessa wrote hers on black paper in either black or blue ink...the mystery card. Morgan helped me read anything I couldn't decipher...well I am 60! Bryan repeatedly said he hoped tomorrow I was feeling their love.
This morning I woke up to my lawn being heart attacked. Silly me walked out in the middle of it all and cried tears of joy. You know one is more sentimental and prone to crying...when they are 60!!! I wish I could have seen those grands running around in the dark doing something so precious and dear. Love you grands and your sweet mom who orchestrated it all. P.S. the cookies are alllllll gone.
Trevlyn and I had breakfast at my choice of restaurant, Cracker Barrel although I mistakenly tried to convince Jody I was eating at Crate and Barrel! Well, I am 60!
The day was decorated with calls, visits, emails, Facebook wishes and MORE BLOG COMMENTS THAN I'VE EVER HAD IN MY YEAR PLUS BLOG LIFE. That was soooo cool of you all to do that. I think KMS was contacting everyone I know to comment and it just plain tickled me. Thanks you great people. I will never, ever forget your kindness!!
Tonight Kathy was taking me to a chick flick, The Secret Life of Bees and Trevlyn was meeting us there...or so I thought. The gathering grew and grew with Noelene C. , Sue G., Amy Cammack L., Kimberly M., Sandi V., Claudia M., Robin B. and Brenda S. I was thrilled but also a bit embarrassed. I'm not use to that much attention though I claim to have never outgrown Show and Tell. This was a rather big spotlight for someone who is after all...60!
Again, love and thanks and I just have to tell you that turning 60 today was just awesome and Bryan, Grammy is really feeling the love!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Let me explain why Tyler's birth was and is such a great occasion. Mom was 1 of 4 daughters. I am 1 of 3 daughters. My sister Cindy and I both gave birth to daughters. All of that is wonderful and fine...but when my second child was born, and I didn't know the gender before birth, well, when the doctor announced "It's a boy" we were all thrilled. . . and still are to have him as our son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and cousin.

Papa Ben with first grandson Tyler and Trevlyn.

Cannot get any cuter than this!

After 2 little brothers, Andy & Jesse, he was so happy for little sister Dori.
So handsome in his tux for prom.
Tyler surrounded himself with absolutely great friends.
Being loved by the women of the family.

Often an anchor of our family.
These nephews were so excited to meet and play with their Uncle Tyler.
Dearest Tyler-Wishing you a most happy birthday and year from a heart overflowing with love and tenderness for you. Love forever, Mom

Good Sabbath / Birthday

We've had a beautiful Sabbath. Awakened to a sunny morning, the song birds in this area are delightful to hear and I'm so enjoying their songs. Church is about a 20 minute drive through beautiful countryside and services were very nice. There are a lot of young families in their ward and many precious children.

We came home to celebrath J's 3rd birthday. He was so very, very excited with continual grins from ear to ear. C made a darling cake and I got to help with the mainstay "Fluffy Cocoa Frosting". Find the recipe at Knights In The Kitchen if interested. Hope you all have had a good Sabbath too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA

Can you tell by this photo just how huge and loving her heart is??? How wonderful to have a reputation at such a young age of being kind and loving. I can hardly wait to visit her and her sweet family in a couple weeks. She and I are going to make an apple pie together. I'm going to put birthday candles on that pie. I love you darling Ella.

Three is Thirty-five

Yes, time to celebrate!!!! It's #3's birthday. It is interesting as I put these birthday posts together trying to find photos. Most of you kiddos have taken your photo albums and I may or may not have many old photos of you in my files. This boy scores with many photos for you to see his development from smiling, happy, mellow, bright baby to...
Happy little blond boy in Joseph with sibs...
Happy to even do chores on Christmas day-great work ethic...(hello sweet Sugar)
Goofy and fun posing as a geek with brother...
Scout, fisherman and lover of the outdoors from way back when...
Buff bodied...
One of the great family men and kind enough to wear a funny gift hat...
Spiritual, servant, obedient, loved, good example...
Great husband and father.
You have always been a blessing.
Happy Birthday with great love!
