Camp Grammy 2011 - Let's Wrap This Up...Finally.

Camp and the fabulous grands are over/gone. I'm left with fantastic love, memories, photos and

this very slow, frustrating computer.
The darling parents and little sister P (along with one of their nieces) arrived. We were all very excited to see them. All the more people with which to have fun!

Watching July 3rd, yes, 3rd fireworks in the neighbors yard.
Still lots and lots and lots of swimming only now there were plenty of life guards on duty. The kids love the "action" shots.
Niece C in all her 4th fun.
Tessa in her Camp shirt. She's still wearing it ALL the time. Makes me so happy.
Backyard sparklers before we left for firework display.
Watching the Peoria Sports Complex "works" from the hood of the car. Not quite the grassy, cool evening I think most of you experience on your 4th. I commented that I just might decorate with all the red, white and blue in November when it is cool. Hey, I'll even grill those ribs too.
Here are the die-hards that went for the sparkling experience...of course I'm behind the camera.
Grammy could not pass up the glow in the dark halos.
This photo does not do justice to the Andy-Against-Everyone water fight. It was so fun and that Andy held his own.
Little grand P found her special bag awaiting her and a Camp Grammy water bottle too. Look at that smile on O in the background. Oh I miss those smiles.
You have no doubt seen the national news reports on Arizona's haboob - mile high, 2 mile wide dust storm. We got hit at our house but not has hard as the east valley. Notice the finger wipe on the patio table.
Pool in process of being cleaned.
The top of the portable fire pit.
Plastic patio chair.
One of the patio tables and this one was undercover of the patio so was a little more protected.
New Subject:
Thank you Julie Harward!
I made her cinnamon roll cake recipe; she has outrageous recipes at her blog.
Here it is just out of the oven before the glaze went one.
I polled the AZ grands and got 4 double thumbs up for this recipe.

It's a new week. Sunday fortified me. I so appreciate the Sabbath.
I so appreciate you. Wishing you a . . .
Happy day, msk

Camp Grammy - Friday Recap

I was up and outside before the rest of my gang and here are a few things I enjoyed.
After I challenged Jake a couple of weeks ago to hang up his swimsuit and pool towel better he has really proven himself. I got a big laugh over his expert job here.
Here is H's towel after coaching from Jake. So fun!
Here are the rinsed tie dyed shirts. I also washed them and then dried them. Models in shirts later.
Another new sunflower to greet me. The bees are loving them and O and I had a great time watching the bees and their pollen laden legs on the flowers.
Breakfast, after a quick trip to Circle K for milk,
morning swim
then Tessa arrived and we were off to the Children's Museum of Phoenix.
It was a grand time.
Back lit sand play.
Vroom
The noodle forest is always a favorite.
Another vroom.
Oops, did we wonder into the little kiddie area.
Drums in front of a mirror so I'm actually in a picture.
O was a natural at serving foam ice cream cones.
Back for another romp in the "tree house". I loved this huge, winged tub.
We picked up a lunch at Sonic then headed home. All loved grilled cheese.
And all loved their own creative shirts.
Afternoon and evening swims. Grilled burgers for dinner then more games of catch and racing around the pool.

I've also gotten them hooked on playing dominoes. H and I even called Uncle Jesse tonight to hear him tell of his time on his mission in the Dominican Republic where a night out for the locals consisted of dressing in their best, going out onto their own front porch and playing dominoes...in a wild fashion. To each his own.

Happy day, msk

Camp Grammy Continues - Thursday

Our morning started with some projects inside. First . . . Happy Birthday Annette,
here are your long distance cards from your boys.

Even before the card making each had completed a Lego car kit. Clever guys.
We met Trevlyn, Jake and Tessa at the theater and watched Cars 2. All seemed to enjoy it a lot but I thought it really was advanced in plot and a lot would go over the heads of the young.

We brought the 2 extra darlings home for our big attempt at tie dye shirt making. I know we did make a big mess. We are instructed to keep the shirts in plastic over night so tomorrow will be the big unveiling. Here are the white, rubber banded shirts.
This looks like carnage . . . and it may be just that.
Our "kit" didn't have enough rubber gloves but I had extra . . .
and who could have guessed the great fun and laughter they provided in the pool. If you have a pool or enjoy someones pool, get these gloves and be silly.

Another swim after dinner tonight then the big scorpion hunt with SLK. Report: saw 3 got 2. They are writing in their journals as I type then prayers and off to bed. Me too.
Happy day, msk

It Continues - Wednesday Evening

Oops, I forgot to get the cell phone pic at the Diamondbacks game...but could any plays be more outstanding than what I watched in my own backyard!!! I think not.
Look at the reach from H.
And another great play from Jake.
O will never be outdone!
And notice the play was so good we even had "a fan in the bleachers".
Another puzzle put together.
What a fun day it's been.
Happy day, msk
