Good Sabbath

Heavenly Hands by Mormon artist Greg Olsen
I'm trying hard to be more focused on being an earthly angel. Reaching out more. Forgetting self more. Not just being concerned but showing concern through actions. I know I do and will stumble in my efforts but I'll keep trying. I pray my heart and words will be full of love. I first heard this Alabama song Angels Among Us at Shalene's funeral. I'll never forget it or her. Hope you listen to the message and also have a good Sabbath.

Valentine Cards

Not just Valentine cards but any card that has a verse that states something like this . . . I don't often tell you just how much I love you . . . isn't that pathetic!!! Yes, I am a believer that love should be demonstrated and stated often, really often. I'm not perfect in this matter but always working at it. And I do think this day, Valentine's Day is a wonderful occasion - chocolate or not - to take this opportunity to tell you again that I love you. I'm safe saying that at this sight since it is read by family and a few close friends that I do love. I also like the phrase "worts and all" indicating I love in spite of faults. Hope you do too. We all need each others love and encouragement.

Feeling The Love

I truly had not planned to blog about my birthday a.k.a. the big 60!!! Birthday's are typically very low key around here. But after all the greatness of family and friends in my life today at the very least I have to say THANK YOU. This has just been awesome.
The night before thee day Trevlyn brought over the local grands with a plate of sugar cookies frosted in "Tiffany" blue and a stack of homemade cards from the grands. I love that Tessa wrote hers on black paper in either black or blue ink...the mystery card. Morgan helped me read anything I couldn't decipher...well I am 60! Bryan repeatedly said he hoped tomorrow I was feeling their love.
This morning I woke up to my lawn being heart attacked. Silly me walked out in the middle of it all and cried tears of joy. You know one is more sentimental and prone to crying...when they are 60!!! I wish I could have seen those grands running around in the dark doing something so precious and dear. Love you grands and your sweet mom who orchestrated it all. P.S. the cookies are alllllll gone.
Trevlyn and I had breakfast at my choice of restaurant, Cracker Barrel although I mistakenly tried to convince Jody I was eating at Crate and Barrel! Well, I am 60!
The day was decorated with calls, visits, emails, Facebook wishes and MORE BLOG COMMENTS THAN I'VE EVER HAD IN MY YEAR PLUS BLOG LIFE. That was soooo cool of you all to do that. I think KMS was contacting everyone I know to comment and it just plain tickled me. Thanks you great people. I will never, ever forget your kindness!!
Tonight Kathy was taking me to a chick flick, The Secret Life of Bees and Trevlyn was meeting us there...or so I thought. The gathering grew and grew with Noelene C. , Sue G., Amy Cammack L., Kimberly M., Sandi V., Claudia M., Robin B. and Brenda S. I was thrilled but also a bit embarrassed. I'm not use to that much attention though I claim to have never outgrown Show and Tell. This was a rather big spotlight for someone who is after all...60!
Again, love and thanks and I just have to tell you that turning 60 today was just awesome and Bryan, Grammy is really feeling the love!
