Still Trying to Gather ALL the Family.

We have been a "spread out family" and getting
a group family picture always seems to allude us.
This is the most current photo from our Family Reunion 2012 at Timber Lakes, Utah
though we a missing Tyler and Dori who were holding the
"East Coast Family Reunion" and Mark who had to work.
Thanks Annette and Andy for our reunion shirts. We all loved them and the charcoal gray was thee perfect color (photo looks light gray).

Gathering almost 3 years ago for Linny and Jared's wedding in the Mesa, Arizona Temple and missing Christie and kids.

Our California beach reunion about 7 years ago-missing Tyler in this one.
Maybe someday I'll have that dream photo with everyone of this great family include.
Until then I'll count myself
exceedingly blessed
to have this precious family in my life
even if not framed on my wall.

Hey Jody . . .

. . . here are the Pinterest biscuits we made at our reunion. We made a quadruple batch and not a one was left over.
I still prefer my "from scratch" recipe but these are super good and so beat Bisquick biscuits!!!
Pinned Image

Bisquick, sour cream, 7up (any lemon/lime soda) and butter!.... These are excellent!!!!
So easy and soooo good!
(Just a note, I used diet, lemon/lime soda and "light" sour cream)
Ingredients:
2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup 7-up
1/4 cup melted butter (come on, use BUTTER)
Directions:
1. Cut sour cream into biscuit mix, add 7-Up. Makes a very soft dough.
2. Sprinkle additional biscuit mix on board or table and pat/roll dough out and cut (I kneaded a few times).
3. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a 9 inch square pan.
Place cut biscuits in pan and bake at 450 degrees until golden brown.

Reunion Snapshots VI

Kayaking, hammock and the little lake by the cabin.

T on her own.

Unloading kayaks and hammock time.
This is a small lake but just right for our speed and also a nice walk from the cabin.

Top left is O happy to be on the lake. Andy and others next.

You don't get any up close face pictures here but shows the lake in such a good shot.

The big grands had fun on this little lake but really loved it when Grandpa took them to Jordanelle Lake for big time kayaking - no photos of that though.
Today is Saturday and after much of the family headed back to AZ and NM the local SLC bunch are coming back when time becomes available and we love that. It's been raining and we are hoping for a break to grill chicken for dinner. The rain means the gas fireplace is adding warmth and that wonderful glow. We are feeding chipmunks on the back deck along with birds but still wanting another moose encounter.

Sending love and missing you that had to go home. 3

Reunion Snapshots V

Yesterday was a fun, saunter around Park City with Linny and SLK. This is my only cellphone pic but will get others off my camera and share in the future. Being the people-watcher I am, this was very entertaining.

Today was our day to visit Midway. I went online to try and find an address to the HGTV home that was built there but couldn't find address. To my delight we came upon it accidentally and it is for sale. Silly gal in Pennsylvania who won it didn't move in like I would had I been the winner.

We went shopping in here and picked up a few bobbles. I love the Swiss heritage in this town and how it is reflected in the buildings.

We came upon a dairy and bought some raw milk, cheese curds, cheese spread and another cheese. This is a 4 generation operation and the owner was out visiting with us. Really friendly and enjoyable. Yes, I bought the milk and paid the bottle deposit just so I could have one of these bottles...Heber Valley Milk.

Photo taken too far away but this was a stunning home. Add to people watching house watching.
The weather is changing quickly here. Sun has disappeared and the wind through the trees is making quite the symphony. Wishing you all well. 3family

Reunion Snapshots IV

Tie dying shirts was a fun reunion activity. We took the picnic table out to the front driveway so not to get any stains on the wood decking. I only have a few photos but more on my camera that I hope to share later.

SLK helping to dye Miss T's shirt.

Aunt Jody had left before we did this activity so she left her shirt for P and E to dye for her.
I know she will love it girls.

Reunion Snapshots III

Photos from Trevlyn's cell phone, thanks.

A great, great joy on this reunion/vacation is the faith of these great kids and grands. Our cabin is on a mountain top, 8,000 ft. and we all drive down into Heber, about 20 minutes and attend church. What a nice ward (congregation) we attend and enjoy a wonderful spirit.

We made and packed a couple of salads in a cooler so after church we headed to Salt Lake City and left salads at Andy's and then all went to tour Temple Square.

The Temple grounds were radiant with flowers which I always love.

Here is a replica of the Angel Moroni statue that is on the top of the Temple.

Inside the Tabernacle, and the wonderful pipe organ. I love that it was decorated for Independence Day.

At Andy and Annette's - I had to get right on the kitchen floor for some big dog love from Javi. She is a sweet, giant Newfoundland.

Grands in one of the Visitor Centers.

Grandsons walking on the Temple grounds. Just great.

Uncle Andy with some of the girls. Love it.

Great photo Trevlyn. Love the quality of your cell phone pics.
Many of the grands visited with sister missionaries who were serving from Russia, France, Washington state and I think Slovenia. This day will be in my heart forever. Love you kids!

Reunion Snapshots II

Let's Dance on the Wii was more fun than I could have imagined. The kids are great at it...

...we adults were good sports and tried not to feel too silly - that's Andy and me doing the Monster Mash.

Moose watching off the back deck just might be one of my highlights.

Thanks Andy for taking the big boys fishing.

Girl cousin power.

Strong boy cousins helping and watching over the younger ones was great!!! This is Park City while waiting in line for the Alpine Coaster ride. Look at those rain clouds. They unleashed just as we got back to our cars!

The youngest B with one of the "old guard" J. Cute walking sticks beside them.

What a combo....Dairy Keen in Heber then fishing on the upper Provo River.
We really had fun at Park City riding on the Alpine Coaster.

I'm so proud/loving my kids who are all pitching in with cooking and cleaning.
Kids, you're thee bestest.

Kayaking on the lake by our cabin was soooo fun. I think one of these pics is of H who along with O had a rugby game down in the valley.
Grands after hiking at Sundance.
Much more to come:
Tie Dying shirts
Kayaking
The Sabbath

Reunion Snapshots

Thanks to family who take cellphone pics and send to my email. That's the only way I'm getting photos here.
Here is SLK with grands at BYU Creamery...oh the yumminess of this place. This was after Sundance ski lift and hiking.
Do you love the family reunion shirts!!! We all do. Thanks Andy and Annette for these shirts we proudly wear.

Nice hike from the cabin to a lake. Jody was still with us then and I'm so glad Deb got this photo. Deb, Scott and Thomas came up for a fun visit from SLK.

Grands downstairs in the family room for our Left Right game. This was so fun and I'll gladly share or just go to my Pinterest board Family Reunion. Love Pinterest for all the good ideas.

Jesse, Christie and some of the boy grands during L R game.

Celebrating birthdays for:
America
Morgan
Annette and
Holden.

P and Andy.

P and T after making their walking sticks. Plenty of bells on them to scare off bear...of which there are none thankfully. Now that I look closely I can tell they continued to all a lot a "stuff" to their sticks later and they were much more fun and colorful.

Happy us to be surrounded by our kiddos and grands.

Two huge, beautiful moose grazed on "our" cabin property for about an hour. We all lined up and took endless photos. What beauties.

More of the hike. The surroundings are just breathtaking.
Until later and hopefully more photos to share. Still feeling exceedingly blessed and loving this large experience.
