SLK and I have been traveling; after his business meetings in Chicago we hopped in the rental car and headed off to NAUVOO. I plan on posting many, many photos of our trip thinking the kiddos want to see them . . . so if any other visitors want to bail I fully understand.

Notice the rooftop of the old, red brick home with 6 chimneys.
The original temple was burned and destroyed as the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were driven and burned out by lawless mobs. The current temple is a replica and I was in love with its beauty. Here you can see the "Star Stones" and the "Morning Star" window. The reference for this is in

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Here is one of several "Sun Stones" that surround the temple. Dear friend Cheryl W.'s great, great, maybe a 3rd great grandfather carved the first Sun Stone with direction from Joseph Smith to how it should look.

Looking out our balcony door. Sorry for all the power lines. This is now such a tiny town and it was full of power and telephone lines. There is not a single traffic light in the town.

I want to see all your pictures..keep posting them! We were in Nauvoo last October and that is where I left my heart. We had such a great trip there..I did 4 posts it..it's on my side bar under trips. :D

I would love to see the other pics. It has been 14 months since I was there last. It is something that keeps calling me to come back. I so love it there. We visit in the early spring before the rush of visitors. We stayed at the same hotel and yes there are alot of stairs.
Like Julie Harwood says, you leave your heart there and long to return.
