The extra long weekend at the lake house had to come to an end. We actually ended it on Sunday-after we attended church. Now you have to understand, where we were-they is no post office, no gas station or mini mart. There are no public utilities, the vacation homes use propane, solar or wind generators (usually a combination of all). There are no churches but there is a group of Christians that want to worship and there is a volunteer fire house/group that moves out the engine truck and with garden chairs gathered in a circle services are held. I will admit that when Skippie and Garry brought along cousins the number swelled to about a dozen worshippers and yes, our singing, which is with gusto, was appreciated. Garry's already told the small congregation of worshippers that we would have a musical number ready for next year!!! Oh Garry. Kisses, love and thanks all around and then the drive home was filled with sister conversation, memories, love, appreciation of the beautiful drive and still more planning - most of it is done - for Emily and Matt's wedding. My heart was and is full.
Shot's around the W family 5 acres. You know my love of large, outdoor tables to gather the gang around. Jody's table is 10' long!!!!! I don't covet, I don't covet (I am a little green with envy though). Garden in background, vegetables and flowers galore.
This was the serving table for our delicious ribs and corn on the cob dinner.Front yard with Hannah and Mandy. Love this family too!
Dear friends the Cook's sent over there wonderful motor home for extra sleeping room-I took over Ben's room. We are used to sharing space and do it well. Love you Ben. He doesn't read my blog but I still have to say that. Here it is going into the small pasture. Good digs for Ben.
Jody and Ed's 4 grands in the large pasture, by the pond for pictures. Sylvia and Ben have both become excellent photographers!!! Love these kids and their parents too! Click on Sylvia to go to her blog and see photos.
One of two bulls this year. He's watching the photography session going on. You know I don't like to think of his short life but boy they live well here and the end is fast and humane. And once again it was fun to feed them our watermelon rinds. I hope my grands remember doing that here.
That's it for today. Got to get out of this house and visit teach...it's not quite the end of the month....and remember, I have been gone, you know, Oregon, 3 weeks, my second home. Hope your day is great, really great. This mother's heart if overflowing with love and gratitude.

Oh Aunt Sue, that is awesome. I have a story you can compare yours to. I bought a pair of Pumas at Nordstrom Rack a long time ago. They were white w/ silver logos, etc. I wore them for months before finally realizing that they were two totally different pairs of shoes. One was a shiny metalic silver, while the other one was matte and not shiny at all! Oh well. Nobody ever noticed but me. Loved all the great photos of the farm. Wish we were all together still. Good food and good company. Thanks for all your hard work again. So so so so appreciated. Love you loads.
Love it. I hiked this morning in the dark and thought about you and your shoes. SMILES!
Emily-I love when you comment. Thanks for your story and it was a pleasure to help with your wedding to Matt.
