Report + later photos

I know Kirby's "sisters" are anxiously awaiting today's update. Sorry to the rest of you who might not be as involved in this good boy's saga. Last night, 2nd night, was soooooo good. 1st night I slept on the floor next to Kirby. He whimpered on and off all night. I was giving him pain and sedation medication, changing wet puppy pads very often and he seemed to want me to be touching him continually. Last night, no meds after 10:30 pm, dry, no whimpering and I still was downstairs in the family room but on the sofa. Bandage is off, it had slipped down and wasn't even covering his stitches and I know you want a picture of that but Kirby isn't exposing that area right now when I have the camera out and I really don't want to bother him. He limps of course but is taking himself outside to do his business. I have to keep him on a leash even in the back yard so he won't run. Heaven help us if that cute little squirrel, a cat or bird tresspasses. I hope you can tell things are much better. It will be a long haul to complete recover still but . . . well, you know. . . he is so worth it. I see a few glimpes of spunk, tail thumping but not much. It's coming back though. I'm planning on a short trip to the store later and think he'll will be okay.

I had to use the T word to get him to lift his head for this photo. You know "TREAT".
He can't manuver stairs and is not happy with having to stay downstairs at all! Here's my blockade.

D's old comforter that he occasionally lays on. I know you'll feel good I used yours.
Good thing I took pics today. Yesterday this room was a triage center and looked helter-skelter with wipes, tissues, garbage can, pads, towels, blankets, water bottle etc. You know how much better you feel when recovering when the sheets are clean, bed made and room orderly...yep, I know Kirby feels the same and is appreciative.

On another note, my Meyer lemon is blooming. . . again. That's to be expected for this variety but what a joy for my eyes and nose. It's nice to appreciate the little things in life don't you think.
P.S. Photos taken later today. Be brave.

You know your pet is more like a little brother when you cry seeing those pictures! I'm glad you use my big comforter. Tell him his dori girl loves and misses him.
