Making Memories

A fun overnighter with 2 of the local grands. Due to our blended family status we only had 2 of the 4 but I'll gladly take what I can get.

After a wonderful Sabbath day of churching the gang came over for a breakfast dinner.
Oh the smell of sourdough hotcakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, fruit salad, juice and Trev and I both fixed dessert so we had brownies and chocolate cake.

Stuffed.

In the evening the grands watched the old family fav "Box of Delights".
This was a PBS special in the 1980's our kiddos loved that was based on the book of the same name.
Monday morning was our planned walk with Kirby, eating kumquats from Ed and Betty's tree and cocoa and toast. We watched some fun youtube music videos of The Beatles, The Beachboys, M. Jackson and PP and Mary. I love that the kiddos and grands can all sing along to my oldies.

We then began our adventures that included Cerreta's Candy Co. Many of you are also fans of this delicious treat.
The tour was somewhat of a bore for the grands
but the samples were a great hit.

This solid chocolate Santa weighs 500 lbs. is looked at least 5' tall.
The mold is on the right side of photo.

You are surrounded by candy when you go there. It's worth the trip...just to inhale...but we did also leave with a sackful.

Our final stop was Peter Pi*per Piz*za. Games, food and rides are just so fun for this age...wait what age am I and I so enjoy myself.
I think what I enjoy most is watching
my darlings having fun.
Just so you know, at breakfast we did talk about MLK day, segregation and our feelings about that. Equality is important to discuss with our loves.

I hope I have helped to create a good memory. That's really important to me this year and a goal of mine.

Wishing you a wonderful day. Here in AZ it is in the 70's, clear, blue sky, warm. I'm feeling appreciative.

Happy day, msk

What a fun time...nothing like family is there?! Looks like you guys did lots of fun things, I think the grands will always remember these times with their grand parents. :D

I think I got to have some of that chocolate cake you referenced from Trevlyn. I didn't share and it was yummy. What a sweet daughter you have.

Oh how wish that my kids could have been there to make this memory with their Grammy. Makes tears come to my eyes that we live so far that its not possible right now.
