The Star-Spangled Banner

Do you know the last verse of this great anthem?

Oh, thus be it ever,

when free men shall stand

Between their loved homes

and the war's desolation!

Blest with vict'ry and peace,

may the heav'n-rescued land

Praise the Pow'r that hath made

and preserved us a nation!

Then conquer we must,

when our cause it is just,

And this be our motto:

"In God is our trust!"

And the star-spangled banner

in triumph shall wave

O'er the land of the free

and the home of the brave!

Go here for a moving, short history lesson on this song and what inspired it. I learned more than I learned in grade school.

Happy Day from MSK

I looove that verse, my mom used to sing it to us a lot. I'm going to share it on my blog too. Btw, thanks for your sweet comments about the Holy Ghost lesson. It feels wonderful when the children soak in the lesson like that, thanks so much for sharing!!
