BECAUSE CINDY ASKED!

Cindy and I were speaking of plant therapy today. For a lot of us that is so real and helpful. I love the way Cindy gardens, so artistic. I'm looking forward to seeing her and Jody's garden's this summer. She told me of her shopping trip to get flowers and vegetable starts. Then I told her what was growing at my house and that this year I planted a couple packet of wild flowers and can't identify all of them. I'm sure Cindy and Jody could tell me what they are.

Cindy asked me to take pictures for her. . . so here we go. Settle back for a long ride or just click over to another site if you've had your fill of my flowers (I wouldn't blame you). It is the Geiss thumb syndrome again.

My pot of sage, 1 of 3 tomatoes and basil (from seed) you can't see but it up and strong.
Back yard African daisies and a peek of vinca.
Colorful mixture of many pots on back patio.

From driveway to front porch. Got the idea to put solar lights in the pots from Skippie. Thanks.

Added this little green fairy to the front steps just today. She was one of my garage finds for $1 today.

Aloe Vera blossom with Mexican Bird of Paradise just putting forth leaves behind.

Under pool slide.

Close up of front walk flowers, more colors of the lobelia.

Close up of the gazania-thrives in this heat and sunshine.

Caladium just coming up. I'll move this to the shady front porch eventually.

Great rebound of the bougainvillea after a couple hard frosts this winter. There is no white on this plant and that is just reflections on a sunny day. About 85 today and climbing in the next couple days. I just need a big picnic table and you here. I'll even grill the burgers.

Remember my attempt at African daisies along the driveway. They have done well and I've just loved them.

This is so funny, my Christmas 2006 poinsettia.
I was thrilled last October (when most of this was planted) to find a 6 pack of lobelia in assorted colors. You get that easily in OR but we're just now getting many color varieties.
This trusty Bell pepper is over 2+ years old and doesn't look pretty but bless it's heart it keeps on producing. Sweet grand O loves to eat these beauties.
California poppies, I think, from those wild seeds.

Who would have guessed that French lavender would thrive in the desert. The bees are very busy in this area.

Remember the old mud hole....yeah squash from seeds right into the ground. Notice I did get around to putting a layer of grass clippings for mulch.

Are these my bachelor buttons? I've got them in pink too and they are tall!

Don't know what this is, it's tall and in pink and purple.

Won't buy a rose bush no matter how pretty it is unless it smells really good. That's Sofie Jr. behind it.
View from kitchen window. You still here? Wow, you hung in there and looked at all of these. You're great. I can hardly wait to hear about and/or see your gardens. Hope this was as fun or therapeutic for you as it was for me. 3
Well since you've lasted this long you might as well see what besides that green fairy I found at the garage sale today while Kirby and I were out walking in the neighborhood. This sack is full with videos at 75 cents each. I know I am an absolute spas or is that spaz, for listing them but some are just such old favs I have to share with you. . .
Lady Hawk, Back to the Future complete trilogy, Ever After, Star Wars, Return of the Jedi, The Empire Strikes Back, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, The Jungle Book, Drop Dead Fred, Jurassic Park, The Lost World Jurassic Park, Peter Rabbit the tale of Pigling Bland and The Bible. Now really, that is pretty awesome and at 75 cents each.

And won't this be a good addition to the back yard. Easier for the worlds most adorable grands to roast their marshmallows and make those tasty s'mores. The top and grill come off. Okay, that's all. Really. Oh, you want to know what I paid for this...well she was asking $35 and I paid $25 and am a tiny embarrassed I spent that much but really it's okay.
Bye. Love you. Happy day.

I looked at every picture. Great flowers. Send me a list of what we should plant in our small backyard.

Loved the flower tour. My tulips are about ready to pop! Ben made me a new flower bed today, and filled it with the neighbors rocky clay soil they had in a BIG pile. Oh well, I'll put some good on top!

Absolutely loved it---how do you get your lobelia so lush? I couldn't recognize the pink wildflowers, but the color is lovely. After we talked, I bought some more plants, including a Meyer lemon and a plumbago--how about that? Is your lemon in a pot or in the ground?
Love, sister Cin

C-thrilled you found your desired plumbago and Meyer lemon!!! You've got to be on top of the world. Lemons are both in pots and they are 2 and 3 years old. Lobelia-guess I just get lucky. The "garden guy" here says if you plant citrus in a pot us 1/2 potting soil and 1/2 regular dirt you just dig up. Of course I learned that 2 years after I potted the last one but plan to repot this week. Good luch.
