Good Sabbath

Exodus 31:16-17 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
I too am trying to keep the sabbath day holy through worship, song and service. I do love the sabbath day and the lovely, unique day it is in the week for me to put away the worldly things and concentrate on the more sacred and holy things in life.

Genesis 1:14-16 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

May I share a couple photos I took earlier this week from my bedroom window. Yes, that is the roofline so you can imagine the window open and me in jammies hanging outside, trying to not fall so I could capture this glorious sunrise.

This is a beautiful earth. I give thanks for it and for an innate nature that appreciates God's creations...well most of them, some creepy, crawly things I don't appreciate and doubt I ever will.

Song: For me, worshipping through song is a very lovely, easy and a spiritually uplifting thing to do. Choir or not, in tune or not, just singing the hymns often brings tears of appreciation, love and lessons learned. Here is the GEISS FAMILY SINGERS in our 2005 Saturday rehearsal. Our little family choir sang Amazing Grace in the First Christian Church in Milton-Freewater. I think many participants could comment that this was not just a gathering of family singing a song. There was a spirit there that touched many hearts and bonded memories and love. I love looking at this photo, going down the line and recognizing my family-my sisters, neice and nephew, cousins and cousins children. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful family.
I love the chorus of this song:
True to the faith that our parents have cherished,
True to the truth for which martyrs have perished,
To god's command,
Soul, heart, and hand,
Faithful and true we will ever stand.
Service: With a pork loin roasting I will be heading to the kitchen shortly to finish the rest of an easy Sunday dinner and give thanks that I get the opportunity to feed the missionaries today. Yes, yes, I hear you...but Mom, you always feed the missionaries a big breakfast foods dinner. Yes, but occasionally I switch it up at bit. Know that I am thinking of you, praying for you and loving you with all my heart. I want to be together with you forever. 3
