CAN YOU FORGIVE ME A SECOND BLOG TODAY-IT'S BECAUSE OF KATIE!
I've previously mentioned here that I partook of Relief Society Women's Conference with MTN last week. To partake seems so much more involved than watching or listening doesn't it. It was interesting and telling (we were in her home watching it on KBYU-TV) that we would occasionally ooh and aah and wow over statements that touched our hearts and minds. I think of such statements as personal revelation that I need and get excited over that. My dear friend and former bishop Matt G. stated (I'm probably not getting a perfect quote but close enough) Never pass up an opportunity to have a spiritual experience. I'm grateful for that admonition, grateful for the R.S. conference, the spiritual experience it was for me and motivation it provides for all to grow, develop & improve, me most of all. While checking out a few of my favorite blogs today I was moved as I read Katie's account of partaking of said conference. Truth's were further impressed upon my heart. Thank you Katie. I hope it's okay I share this with the 1 or 2 other of my blog readers. When Katie mentioned "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle Is the Hand that Rules the World" poem I was reminded, again as I was during conference last week, of a most wonderful talk by Boyd K. Packer at BYU Women's Conference 2006. I was fortunate to attend and hear him deliver this sermon/address/talk - my friends and I attending mentioned we'd never heard a talk quite like that before. I loved it! He quoted the entire poem in his talk. If you click on his name below it will take you to the transcript of his talk. I can only hope any reading this will take the time to so do, you'll be happy you did. I have purchased the book "RISE TO THE DIVINITY WITHIN YOU - TALKS FROM THE 2006 BYU WOMEN'S CONFERENCE" and his talk plus many, many other motivational talks are within the pages. I've reread it and put my highlighter pencil to good use. I hope I haven't come across as being on my soap box again. I really find it exhilarating to be inspired. Loves.

"The Hand That Rocks The Cradle Is The Hand That Rules The World"
Blessings on the hand of women!
Angels guard its strength and grace,
In the palace, cottage, hovel,
Oh, no matter where the place;
Would that never storms assailed it,
Rainbows ever gently curled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Infancy's the tender fountain,
Power may with beauty flow,
Mother's first to guide the streamlets,
From them souls unresting grow--
Grow on for the good or evil,
Sunshine streamed or evil hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Woman, how divine your mission
Here upon our natal sod!
Keep, oh, keep the young heart open
Always to the breath of God!
All true trophies of the ages
Are from mother-love impearled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Blessings on the hand of women!
Fathers, sons, and daughters cry,
And the sacred song is mingled
With the worship in the sky--
Mingles where no tempest darkens,
Rainbows evermore are hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Angels guard its strength and grace,
In the palace, cottage, hovel,
Oh, no matter where the place;
Would that never storms assailed it,
Rainbows ever gently curled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
