Yikes!!! I was almost finished typing this post when I did something and lost all of it. Undaunted I carry on in a briefer format.
I was a couch potato for many hours Saturday and Sunday watching General Conference on T.V. Glorious wasn't it. I sit with my journal and pen in hand to note that which jumps out at me. . . a.k.a. personal revelation. Looking back on my notes - which I plan to type out today - I see so many stars and underlines - my way back to knock-your-socks-off comments. Maybe someday when I'm no longer here one of you may read that journal and find insight, or share with a grand and bring help. What am I rattling about. I'm a horrible journaler but trying and will get better.
Did you have glorious conference experiences also? Were you thrilled at the newly called brethren? Do you want to share? Here are a few of mine:
1. Elder Boyd K. Packer - We don't seek nor decline callings. Ordinary members are the weak things of the world that the Lord spoke of.
2. Richard Edgeley - What happens to one happens to all. Importance of compassionate service.
3. Mary N. Cook - You can make a difference. Strengthen your relationships with your brothers and sisters in your family. Pray, Study, Tithe with faith, Attend meetings.
4. Enrique R. Talabella - Happiness does not depend on money.
5. Elder Dieter Urchtdorf - the gospel of Jesus Christ is not just for Sunday or a habit or tradition. Strive to keep commandments, make wise choices, tithe, service in church. Endure joyfully.
6. Pres. Thomas S. Monson - wonderful story of his childhood friend Arthur Patton and Mrs. Patton. Will we open the door to our Savior and allow him into our lives to bless and help us. Morgan & I talked about this and Morgan liked the way Mrs. Patton still called him Tommy.
7. Elder Wirthlin - VT & HT not just out of duty but out of love. We are a people that love the Lord and our fellow man - this is our signature.
8. Keith K. Hilbig - Quench not the Spirit. The Holy Ghost is essential through every season of our lives. There is always a higher level within our reach. Study scriptures with pen in hand.
9. Elder Russell M. Nelson - Bible and Book of Mormon speak of each other, compliment each other.
10. Pres. Henry B. Eyring - Holy Ghost. Ask myself : Have I seen the hand of God reach out and touch one of our family members today. LOOK FOR THE HAND OF GOD. Then journal the memories. Share with family.
11. Elder Quentin L. Cook - If we will live a principle of the gospel we will gain a testimony of that principle. Members need to share gospel more. Preach My Gospel book, 1.5 million copies in members hands.
12. Claudio R.M. Costa - Importance of time for family. Rear children in love and righteousness. Family prayer. FHE a must. Personal & family scripture study. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
13. Julie B. Beck - Wow, so much in her talk. I'll reread it continually. Mothers, point your children to the temple. Homemaking, be the best in the world. Growth happens best in a house of order. Be selective of your and family activities to have strength to do the most important. Permit less, live on less, consume less. Don't try to do it all. Don't give up during difficult times.
14. Elder David Bednar - Repentance. Forsake sin and forsake desire to commit sin.
15. Pres. Hinckley - beware of lightmindedness
16. Elder Robert D. Hales - Rely on the Spirit and not on the wisdom of the world.
17. Claudio Zivic - Be someone out of the ordinary.
18.Douglas L. Callister - Each must find out for self that the gospel of Jesus Christ is restored. You can know of the truth but you have to pay the price...fasting, study & prayer. You know and you will know that you know. Share testimony with our family (in homes).
19. Steven E. Snow - Importance of giving service all our lives. Give as needed not when convenient. Look for ways to serve others. Better to do little than nothing. If we fail to serve we fail to receive blessings.
20. Elder Dallin H. Oaks - GOOD, BETTER, BEST. Somethings are better than good. Re-evaluate how I spend my time. Warned against over scheduling of children. Choose the best.
21. Pres. Hinckley - when these talks come out in the Ensign, reread all. Use in FHE. (go buy extra copies so SLK and I will each have our own. Use as workbook. Underline, highlight, use)
Are you still with me??? Maybe this exercise was for me more than anyone else. I'd love for you to share back with me. I'm sure you will point out something I'd forgotten and I'll say something like...oh yes, that was wonderful. Thanks for reminding me. 3

More valuable than gold!
I liked your notes, Mary Sue.
I want to share... As President Hinckley went back to his seat after the newly called brethren took their "new" seats, he tapped President Eyring on the head with his cane... lovingly, of course. Cute sense of humor.
We found out later that was something not shown on the television broadcast.
Thanks sweet gals for your comments. I was thinking this post scared off readers.
