Couldn't pass up this itty-bitty, hand sewn apron that will look so cute when washed and pressed. The hand embroidered dish towel, THURSDAY. At 50 cents each I bought both.
This clam shell thread holder had a tag that read "Grandma Purdy's". I love knowing who this treasure belonged to. I wonder if Grandma Purdy sewed the apron. Such an assortment of thread colors and all are on the old, wooden spools. Didn't need it but wanted it for just $1 and I do think it will come in handy. Notice the little notches around the edge for each spools thread to extend for convenience. Clever.
Five funky, kind of freaky elf ornaments that need a bit of love for 10 cents each and the old style Scrabble game with the wonderful wooden tiles for $1. Maybe I should ask you how you feel about great but "used" gifts.
Look at the great artistry here. So fallish, autumnal, Thanksgiving. And it's not on a canvas but on......an old wooden rolling pin. Even if I just bring it out with the fall decorations yearly it was so worth 25 cents. Don't you think so too?
Now my favorite treasure. A handmade, wooden box that looks just like a suit case made by my neighbor. My big splurge at $5.
Check out this close-up look at the craftsmanship. And the carpenter is such a nice, elderly gentleman-neighbor. I'll add it to my short stack of old suitcases in the blue room. Would you have purchased this for $5?
