Blooms, Twilight and Bugs

While on my walk today I snapped these cactus photos. I think my sister's will remember the barrel cactus spent blossoms that we thought looked like little pineapples when we were girls. We'd carefully pluck them off the prickly cactus and shake out the tiny, shiny black seeds.

Cosmos blooming in the winter here.
Isn't this a fun cactus. The Creator is so . . . well, creative.
After months of hearing all ages of women speak about the Twilight books, vampires etc. I have to admit I thought they sounded quite silly and you wouldn't catch me reading that "stuff". True confession time: I spotted book one at Jody's house while in Oregon this summer and read it within 2 days. At that time I was totally hooked and got the other three books and finished them just as quickly. Now I am looking forward to attending this movie with a group of friends including Trevlyn tomorrow. I don't feel the least bit silly. I'm going to have a great time, I know this because Heather and Becky were at the AZ premiere and have already given it a great review - how lovely to be a personal friend of the author. I really didn't want to be disappointed and was happy to read their blogs today.

Now - Bugs. This is just another flashback to my childhood. Darling Mom used to put raisins in our hot cereal and called them "bugs" as in "do you wants bugs in your cereal". Now that it's finally cooling down I'm enjoying my oatmeal more and I've been putting in more bugs than normal. Sweetness, fiber and iron. What a winning combination. So go eat some bugs and have a great day.

Must admit I had the same Twilight experience. I went from skeptic to fanatic in a matter of days. They were just such a fun read!

I also got hooked and just finished book 2! I wish I had a group of girls to see the movie with. Erik is a sweetheart and promised to take me.
