Garage Sale Dishes

I've told you before about my fun garage/yard sale finds. I don't go searching for them but usually while doing the 2 miler each morning in my neighborhood I just happen upon them...Saturdays are great for that. Just before I left for the PA trip I found a set of white dishes, service for 8 and many extras. I thought it matched my Johnson Bros. and some does but there are other look alikes mixed in. Didn't matter to me. Got all this for $15.00. I thought the tea pot, sugar and creamer were worth that much alone. Since I was on my walk, I told the nice lady I lived on "W" Ave. and would have to get home and come back in my car to transport all the loot. She was so nice about everything and threw in a brass boot umbrella stand for free. Hummm. Not sure what I'll end up doing with that. By the time I returned she had wrapped every piece in paper and had them in two boxes.

Got everything cleaned but with no china cabinet, I've just stacked it upstairs in a vacant "girls room". Then I took off to PA.While I was gone this lady tracked my house down. She realized she still had a gravy boat and another platter in her home. She remembered the name of my street and started going door to door asking people if they knew where I lived. Well, my friend Billie about 6 doors down directed her to our house and she found SLK. Last week she drove by and gave me the two additonal pieces. What a gal!!! I thought that was just so very nice.

Anyone need to borrow some extra nice, white dishes? Platters. I'm always glad to share.
