I made a big stinky this morning. I pulled out the Alaskan fish fertilizer, mixed it with water and fed all my plants this morning. Nice and organic. Nice and STINKY!!! The flies were even following me around. I couldn't wait to get inside and away from that smell. I went back outside in about a half hour to check on the stink level. Oh my dear, it was just as bad if not worse. I quickly grabbed the hose and washed down the patio area but I don't think that's going to help much either.
Do you think my neighbors are offended and wondering what in the world I'm doing over here? If they only understood the good cause. Healthy plants. Pretty flowers. A plethora of zucchini, yellow squash and bell peps to eat and share. A plate of sliced tomatoes. I hope this stinky stuff works. I hope my tomatoes don't have a hint of fish taste. Kirby likes the smell. It's keeping him busy sniffing a lot.
And speaking of that lovely Kirby. I know you want an update. He went in for his annual shots and weigh-in yesterday. I didn't feed him first - do you eat breakfast before stepping on your doctor scales. Some of you may know he has been on a diet for the last two years. He had a significant and hefty weight gain a couple years ago when I went to OR and he got fed twice his normal amount of food plus very little exercise. Bottom line, he is down to 85 lbs. from 107 lbs. Isn't that incredible. I wish I could boast about my bottom line!! I am now to feed him "senior food" because for his age (6). The vet said it will protect his kidneys and he'll live longer. Okay, that's just basic info but when she said it I started to tear up. I so love this dog and don't want to think of anything but loving him and accepting his love. Here he is just this morning so you might notice how sleek he is. Did you also notice that fishy solution on the patio. Remember the cause-keeping my flowers pretty for as long as possible-until the scorching heat fries everything.
Come here Kirby so I can take you picture by these flowers too. I want the fam to see the mini field of lavender. If you sit still I'll give you a treat! Can you make your ears perk up so you look cuter please. Oh, I remember, I just have to say the word SQUIRREL and you'll perk up your ears and look your noble, adorable self.
Yes, I said you would get a treat but you have to keep it on your nose until I give you the "okay" command. You are not only beautiful but obedient and smart.
And now I just have to add this photo from yesterday. I came home from errands to find the grands and dad here. I didn't know it was a half school day. Well, I'm smart enough to tell that sweet man to go about his errands and let me have some grand fun. Though you will not find me in the cold pool I did hold my own at bocce ball. Grammy had the yellow balls and won thrice. ASK & Boo introduced this Italian lawn game to us when they lived here. FUN. I highly recommend you go get it for your summer. One of those neat things where kids and adults can play on a rather equal level. You sure are cute boys and . . . your little dog too.

Thank you for immortalizing this boy on your blog. Whenever I start to miss him, which will be ALWAYS, I can look back at these pictures.
