Easter Week-end Recap

As reported SL and I did attend the Easter Pageant at the Mesa Arizona Temple grounds Saturday night. It was really very good and well worth the trip. We were the fogies amidst 35-40 young adults from "SL's ward" that treated us so well. Here is the website should you want to see more about this annual pageant.
I arrived at church early Sunday for choir practice, boy did I need that. I've missed more practices than I've attended. Our dear friend and most talented director Alicann knows my limitations and took time to explain when I should sing and when I should keep my mouth shut so the men can sing their part. Oh the life for one who does not read music but loves to sing in the church choir. Thanks Alicann!!

And here is our pageant - of sorts. The N family along with dear friends David and Carmen came to dinner. This was going to be a "firsts" for a holiday meal at our house. We were going to eat outside to more fully enjoy spring, flowers and orange blossom laden air. And I know you girls won't believe this but...I bought paper plates!! How often you beg for paper plates and I always refuse. Not that I have china to brag about but...you know, making it as nice as I can.
To my disappointment, I was ganged up on and told it was too hot to eat outside. Can you believe that? Quick change of plans with not even table pads on the dining table we ate inside and buffeted it anyway.

Here we are post food blessing. SL pointed out the fresh biscuits where what the grands ate the most. By the way, I absolutely love and must have fresh asparagus for Easter if possible. There is something about asparagus I love and am always on the prowl to find the best price. I paid 99 cents this week. What's the price of asparagus in your neighborhood? Spiral ham I got for $1.27 lb. and it was a goodie.

After a Bunny Day full of candy and a Sunday sitting still for hours in church in your Sunday dress a girl just has to run around a bit!
And then she has to cool her tootsies off from all that running you know. I just love her dress - I have such a love of toile - and asked MT not to resell it or cut it up for softies as I'd like to save it for a hand-me-down if there are any little cousin takers. I grew up in hand-me-downs, thanks C and then J got them next. Then this girlie had her pictures taken by the rose we call the Tessa Rose though it is really a Double Delight. Not only pretty but a great fragrance. Doesn't matter how pretty a rose is if it doesn't smell great I won't buy it. This is actually D's rose that I get to take care of for who knows how long. I think she needs to come visit her rose.
This one's for you D.
Carmen and Mark visiting over years and years ago when she actually helped him with his Eagle Scout project.
After dinner this grammy gets thee best dessert treat, a sweet granddaughter on my lap to cuddle. Oh, did I actually say she could have her desert if she sat on my lap. Maybe. So what. I needed that cuddle.
And just in the "R&R" department (return and report), reading in the 4 gospels was a wonderful blessing in preparing for Easter. Hope it blessed you too. Thanks MT for being this holidays photographer. 3 to all.
