St. Patricks Day Dinner

I think it's a bit funny that I celebrate a holiday I know nothing about. Who was Patrick and what did he do to get sainted?

When I was a young girl I went to a friend's birthday party on St. Patrick's Day and got pinched several times because I wasn't wearing green. I felt so sad being treated that way and knew nothing about the wearing-of-the-green tradition. It was really bad and confusing.

I have some fun holiday decorations I put up and enjoy. I don't wear green and dare anyone to be so bold as try and pinch me now.

The most fun part for me now is cooking a traditional Irish dinner on St. Patrick's Day. I know corned beef is not a traditional Irish dinner but I'm just not into lamb stew-I'm not into lamb anything. It sounds so classy, with mint jelly and all, but I've never liked it no matter how or by whom cooked. Along with the corned beef, cabbage and potato dinner is a delicious loaf of Irish soda bread. Dessert is occasionally trifle but not always. I'd be just as happy to have seconds on soda bread for dessert. Since one of you girls usually calls me and asks for the recipe this time of year, I'll post it at KITK. Hope you have a traditional feast wherever you are. Do you have any plans? Do share please.
