Thanksgiving

We are certainly in the countdown to Thanksgiving. Have I mentioned previously how very much I like this time of year. Even love this time of year. I haven't done the grocery shopping yet, Monday, but I'm trying to figure out how to still do our traditional big, from scratch feast and especially have the time I'm craving to be with family and GRANDS!!! I can hardly wait for the out-of-towners to arrival from Utah and pack this house with love. Just glorious. Though the shopping isn't done, some of our traditional visitors are already here and awaiting you.

AND THE NUTS...I'M SO EXCITED THAT I FOUND THIS NUT BOWL WITH PICKS THAT IS JUST LIKE THE ONE WE HAD IN OUR HOME IN MY CHILDHOOD. MANY OF THE GRANDS LOVE NUTS AND IT IS ONE OF THE HEALTHIER SNACKS DURING THE HOLIDAYS. PRIOR TO GRANDS, JESSE & STEVE C. WOULD ENJOY THIS HOLIDAY FOOD.

Now...if you haven't gotten your centerpiece together yet or want to do more fun, clever decorating, I just have to pass along this idea Skippy just sent. Looks great and doesn't take long. Just had to send you a few photos of my latest project. Such a fun decoration for Thanksgiving and fairly quick and easy to do. Just took small squash and pumpkins...covered them with white craft glue...and sprinkled with an iridescent glitter. Just do half of each one, let it dry over night and then do the other half. And it seems to seal them and they last for quite a long time. At least they do here in the cooler weather. Usually end up putting them in a basket on the outside table at the cabin when I am ready to start doing my Christmas decorating and they last all winter there!!! Now all you have to do is put a few greens and candles around them and you are ready!!! Fill the bottom on the bowl or basket with unpainted ones (or foam or anything else for filler) so that you can get your height without doing 4 million pumpkins. (Like you wouldn't figure that out on your own!!!)
