What an interesting morning when Jody calls to tell me of almost another butting from her brown bull. She threw the bucket of grain and escaped another bruising. Lesson, toss whatever the critter chasing you wants away from you. Alas, it is that time of year and Jody just stayed home some extra minutes to corral the bulls for their ending. It always makes me a bit sad to think of those kind of things. I thought about it as I prepped the turkey last week. I try to be a bit reverent for critter life and hope you do also.
As K-dog and I approached the golf course we heard that magnificent sound of Canada geese (that's correct, not Canadian). We watched a small flock land, just love that. More fun when they fly right over the house though and K jumps around still trying to figure out the source of that sound. I'm teaching him to look UP which doesn't seem natural to him.
Can you name this pretty purple flower a few block away that I'm loving? My guess is a passion flower but I don't think I've ever seen a passion flower so don't know why I think that. It's growing in a trailing or climbing mode. So delicate and exotic I think.
And I'm also loving the date palm at the end of our street. I pointed it out to the grands last week. I really disliked dates as a kid and now love them. I'll be posting the cookie recipe with dates that you kids-who also disliked dates-ate. Only way I saw you eat dates.
And this is the first time I have seen morning glories in AZ. A mass of them are growing on the top of a fence and trailing down. There are various shades of purple to blue to pink. I walk or drive by them regularly and admire their beauty. Photos are from my cell phone so they aren't sharp but hey, I'm glad I've got it.
And I keep going to DK's blog to see this loverly photo. Definately not my neighborhood!!! Stay warm you Utah kiddos and grands! What's the weather in Pennsylvania?
What sights and sounds are you enjoying this morning? I'd love to hear all about them so please do share. And in tribute to the dear Mr. Rogers (Fred) . . . it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood . . . regardless of the weather.

What a great blog. You have become the expert blogger? I love to see the sights you are experiencing, it puts me in your world for a little while.
Jody says, "i do believe that is a passion flower" I've only seen a couple of them, but love them for their beauty. I still don't like dates, maybe when I get to be as old as you are I'll like them then. Hugs
Fun pictures!!! I second Jody, that it is a passion flower! The morning glories blow my mind! I had no idea they could grow here!!! We need to find out the secret to making them flourish! I'm seeing yellow and orange leaves on my backyard tree!!!
Hi--now Jody and I can get through. I read you and Trev every day, just haven't been able to or take the time to comment. Yes, a passion flower, I have 2 big vines growing in my neighborhood. Love to all...Cin
