Good Sabbath - Guardian Angels

Steve McB. retouched this and emailed it back to me so you could all see our sweet grandparents better. What a kind, wonderful and talented thing to do. I feel blessed and thankful. Great appreciation Steve!!
I am happy to introduce my maternal grandparents,

Albert Charles and Martha Floss G.
Grandpa went by Al or Albert and Grandma by Flossie. I wanted to name Linny after Grandma and call her Marty but I needed another vote and it wasn't there. Sometimes your views or opinions as a youth change as you become an adult - mine have not when it comes to the beauty and handsomeness of these dear, beloved grandparents. I am sorry that the photo is very pale but I think you can still see these incredible people well enough. You can't tell what blue eyes Grandma has in this photo but they were very beautiful. I think physical beauty is always apparent but the more important beauties are from the inside. The real, true beauty is that Grandpa and Grandma were individuals of good character, hard work, love, Christian service and devotion. I recall their wonderful gardens and orchards on their farm in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. I thought Grandma grew the biggest pansies I'd ever seen. There was always good food to eat, fresh fruit from the garden/orchard and lucky to have homemade taffey pulled on the big hook attached to a post on the front porch. Memories of using the "out house" by the barn and being bathed in a tin tub in the kitchen by the stove to keep warm are dear to me. I recall Mom telling me that Grandpa only raised his voice to their bull. He was a very gentle man. I loved it when they decided to spend their winters in Arizona and we got to be with them more. Dad would go up to MF and then drive them and their trailer down to AZ when it became too hard for Grandpa to do. I am thankful for their qualities, virtues and examples to emulate. I classify them as guardian angels along with their 4 daughters. On this Sabbath, I am grateful for my heritage and hope to live up to it. Dear sisters and cousins, please comment to add to this family history or correct anything I've mistakenly remembered (I do have a reputation here for memory).

What a beautiful story you shared and what a beautiful song from the Judds. I love hearing stories people tell of their ancestors. For some reason it always is comforting to me. Does that make any sense? May be it is because I know in our hearts and our stories our love ones live on, and to me at this point in my life, that is very comforting.

Kids-I am just thrilled by your response!!! My little old printer is also a scanner and I've just experimented and learned to scan to my computer then put photos on my blog. Very easy if you have a printer/scanner. You know me...I can't spend big bucks on a printer so you know I'm working with just a basic. I will be more than happy to make copies of both photos and share with you. My dear cousin Steve McB. is the photo/computer wiz of the G. family and maybe I can see if he has a better copy of Grandpa and Grandma's photo plus others to share. Thanks for your interest. Now sweet daughters (in law) will you please nudge my boys and ask them to also see these pics. Love and thanks. And to any non-family reading this...you must be sooo bored. Laughing here.
