FAMILY GATHERING

Today's family gathering was such a delight but actually the planning began days ago. Let me tell you the story....Emily and Matt surprised the W family with a new 10' picnic table with attached benches made by and gifted by Matt's dad. It is beautiful and weighs a ton! What a generous gift! Yesterday, Mandy and I went to Home Depot - you don't want me to eliminate any details do you- and purchased, oil base waterproof sealant, brush, roller and tray to properly preserve it for the generations of FAMILY GATHERINGS to come. Mandy and Ben put their muscle into the job and it was well done in just the nick of time since it takes 24 hours to cure.
Temple showed up with not only great beverages but a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Cindy and Jody strolled around the garden & added flowers to the bouquet and made it even more spectacular if possible.
Here are Hanna, Carma and Hayden. Hanna wanted Grandma Carma to sit with her...smart girl. Note the Christmas trees in the background. They will be harvested this November and then houses will be built all too soon. Ouch.
Mandy, Cindy, Temple, Jessica and Hayden serving up a wonderful hamburger dinner. We had an assigned potluck and everything was exceptionally good. Any of you that want to submit your recipes I'll share with all on the blog.
Roger was our expert grill master. Thanks for all your help and assistant. Great burgers.

None of us were shy about dishing up.
One of Jody's Sunbeam's from church today went home and told her mommy that her teacher had a birthday and then made her a birthday crown. They drove out to present it to her. Everyone needs this kind of love.
We fed the melon rinds and corn cobs to the 2 bulls but Bode decided it was fit for him and enjoyed the scraps.
Saying goodbye is always sweet-sad. Here are Hanna, Temple, Jessica and Mandy. You are all such pretty gals!!
What happy memories this night will generate. Let's do it again next year and hopefully more can attend. I'll pitch a tent if necessary. Love and thanks to all.
