Before and After

Here's a peek at the happenings in the kitchen. I can't begin to show you all the boxes of food and dishes, pots and pans etc. in the adjoining dining room. I'm in a rather big push now to get it done so we can eat with family and friends Easter Sunday after church in there.

The before

The after.
I went with a creamy white from Sherwin Williams called Roman Column. I'm really happy with it. The entire room seems light and larger.

Before

After

This kitchen isn't in "staged" condition. It's a real working kitchen (most on blogs are). The windows are covered with film as are all other windows. Tomorrow the house is painted. I feel like I'm in a cocoon.

I know my refrigerator would look so much nicer and cleaner but I simple have to put up all the "grands" and kiddos photos and occasional artwork, cards etc.. Just have too. That's all.

I've juiced all the lemon from my two little trees (almost, a couple more are hanging on).I zested all the lemons first and froze that too. I'll be making lemon curd tomorrow for Easter dinner as part of the dessert. You can go over to Knights In The Kitchen or directly here for that recipe. I've converted it to microwave and it's very easy and very delicious.

Happy day, msk

Happy Day

Goodness gracious but it's an awesome Arizona day.

We've dipped down into the 80's, cool breeze throughout the house and just being outside is heavenly. The birds have been providing a chorus since about 5 a.m. and as lovely as it is...they should take a break!

I received this wonderful cake pedestal for Mother's Day. The glass dome/lid fits another plate but I thought it also looked cute on this one. This is a full-sized plate and those lemons I just picked are gigantic. I could not fit a 4th lemon in there. Also love the beehive cookie cutter. Thanks bunches Heather and Bethy!

I found a new summer-ish mini flag for the front entry. My love of geraniums pushed me to purchase this welcome flag...and at 1/2 price it was a no-brainer.

Up close and personal.

Sending you my wishes for a happy day.

Have You Noticed

My dear friend Becca now has a button that I've added to my blog that will enable you to click and see what she's up to. I doubt that she'll mentionthat she, Jane and Mitchell on his new red Christmas bike walked/rode over yesterday for a fun surprise visit. I sent them home with the first picking from my Myer and Lisbon lemon trees...more like shrubs in pots but they are my precious citrus.

Low and behold, my surprise today was a piece of this yummy lemon tart with blackberries, mint and whipped cream delivered with such smiles and hugs.

Oh joy!

Check out the "I read Grapefruit" (Daily Grapefruit) button to the right. Great cooking, recipes, mothering, photography and laughs.

Thanks Becca & Co.
