My Kettle Corn . . .

. . . or is that korn?
I really enjoy kettle corn - a lot. A couple of years ago when I was at sister Jody's house in beautiful Oregon she pulled out her corn popper like the one above. Wellllll, it just so happened that dear friend Kathy S. was there too (being an incredible house painter) and did you know she is a professional kettle corn woman. Really! And right then and there she made kettle corn. Delish.

A couple weeks ago while thrifting on Senior day I found my own kettle. I've made my first batch and look forward to many, many more. I just have to be careful since I can hardly stop munching on it.

Here are the basics:

Kettle Corn

scant 1/2 c corn kernels
1/4 c vegetable oil
1/3 - 1/2 c sugar

Heat oil and corn over medium high heat. Just as it starts to pop add the sugar and cover. Stir or shake popper continually till corn is popped. Enjoy

Yes, this will be traveling north to the cabin in Heber for the family reunion.
I'm thinking it will be a big it.
